Today, I was adding the latest testimonials to our Life Laundry Testimonials page and it really got me thinking…..
Martin and I are immersed in our coaching and training activities every day; so much so we tend to forget the power and the magic of what we do. Our “Life Laundry Day” workshop is a great example of this – it introduces simple yet powerful tools to help people get their lives back on track, to get in control and get rid of that “stuck in a rut” feeling; it helps people to understand the differences between dreams and goals, and most importantly shows how to set achievable goals where YOU are in control of the results. While reviewing the feedback from our clients, I suddenly realised how applicable this concept is to most businesses – and in particular, to our own business!! It’s so difficult to set aside time to reflect on what you want to achieve with a business, to think about what your business dreams and visions are, when there are many, many issues needing your attention right now. But without that all important time of reflection, how do you know where you’re going with your business, let alone how you’re going to get there? How would you know if you’ve got lost or diverted from your goals? Surely that deserves your attention right now? We’re now going to take some time to reflect on our own business and do our own mini “Life Laundry”. Let us know if you want some help with yours!

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of being invited along to the grand opening of the newest addition the the NUYUU chain of Fitness Studios. The evening was a charity event raising money for River kids, a charity that specialises in raising funds for causes that benefit the children of West Lothian. Food and drink, with music supplied by The wild Cigarillos Ceilidh band, featuring my accordion teacher Sandy Brechin. Amanda Dunn and her team were fantastic and a big thank you to them for their hospitality.

Now more than ever, people like you and I are beginning to realise that there is so much more that life has to offer than we are currently experiencing. Never before in the history of the human race has society evolved and changed at such a tremendous rate as it is doing right now! Every day there are new discoveries, new technologies, new social and economical advances “improving” our world we live in. If that is true, then why are there more and more people so unhappy with their lives and the lives of their friends and family? The answer, evolution! Social, economical, even spiritual evolution is dictated by the human race, we as a race choose to develop at the rate we are currently progressing. The problem is our brain, our brain evolves at a much slower rate than the current pace of change. Our brain needs time to adjust and develop. By neglecting our brain we are unable to cope with all the changes and developments going on around us. It is vital that people stop and listen to what their brain is telling them. People need to allow their brain to develop and grow to help adjust to the frantic pace of life today. For 2010, if the only change you make this year is one thing, then take time out, stop and let your brain catch up with the world. Let it catch its breath, allow it to talk to you and most importantly, listen to what it has to say.

A huge thank you to all the Master Practitioners from Kirsty McKinnon and Osmaan Sharif’s Masters course last week. Both Caroline and I had the pleasure of assisting at it. We had such a great time meeting all the guys involved. Not to mention the amazing night of 2015. Meeting up with you all again and seeing how much you had put your dreams into reality. However after 8 hours of karaoke and way too many French Martinis (thank you to Michelle for the introduction), the sound of “9-5″, “Up where we belong” and ”I had the time of my life” will be forever anchored in my subconscious. Thanks again guys and hope to catch up with some of you soon.

After a frantic couple of weeks, we decided it was time for a business meeting with a difference. We headed off to Glencoe in Highlands for a couple of days of scenery and inspiration to work on the business plan. We managed to get lots of work done mainly due to the weather being terrible for the first couple of days. Saturday however was beautiful. Good food in the Clachaig and a lovely hot tub and pool in the hotel.

On March the 9th, both Caroline and I went to see Ali Campbell at his book launch at The Deer Park Golf and Country Club in Livingston. A fantastic evening of champagne tasting and a wonderful talk from Ali on how we are all “all right”. His book “Just get on with it” is a refreshing look into how you can take control and get on with your life. A big thanks to Ruth and Gordon Crone from The People Incubator for organising the event and for setting up the Accelerate Your Success network which we’ll be attending regularly. We are looking forward to meeting next week to discuss future collaborations.
